Let me introduce myself

My name is Daniel Powell.

I am a student at the university of Derby, currently on track to receive a first in my degree, Mechanical Engineering (hons). In my time at the university, I have also acheived a diploma in professional practice, 2:1, for work completed in relation to my placement year at CGI IT UK.

During my time at university I have found a passion for design, and have completed multiple projects as part of my work, including design and assembly of a functional off road buggy in Solidworks.
I have experience, and would consider myself well acquainted, with CFD software, design of 3D printers, materials and failure analysis.

I also have a background in software engineering. This originated with an early interest in programming involving various amateur projects which allowed me to develop a range of skills, and over the course of which I learnt numerous programming languages. I then took a professional role and completed my industrial placement year at CGI IT as a test engineer on the ESA's Galileo KMF project.
During my time at CGI, I had a large range of experiences that I believe would allow me to integrate quickly and perform my work at a highly proficient level. My role was flexible and I worked on a wide range of systems and applications, keeping me constantly challenged and learning new things. I wrote and carried out test cases and procedures, interacted directly with clients and managers, and also had experience working abroad.
